Why Treatment Courts Work and What the Faith Community Can Do to Make Them Even More Effective

In 2008, Judge Mingledorff was elected Superior Court Judge in the Piedmont Judicial Circuit, comprising Barrow, Jackson and Banks Counties.  Soon after taking the bench, he presided over the creation of the Circuit’s first Felony Drug Courts and Mental Health Courts.  The Barrow County Felony Drug Court has been designated a "Model Drug Court" for the years 2020 - 2023 by the Council of Accountability Court Judges of Georgia (CACJ). Judge Mingledorff has also been appointed to the Faculty of the National Drug Court Institute (NDCI) to assist in training other accountability courts, judges and teams across the Nation.
